Taking clear and effective notes during class can help you remember what we do in class, and can speed up the review process when you're preparing for a test! Here are some hints and clues from fellow foreign language teacher Aurora Martinez for taking great notes!

Write down the words we use in class that are new to you, even if they are not on the "list" for the current chapter. You should have a running list of vocabulary in your notebook; just add the new words to that list. Review these new words often - maybe every other day or so.

Write down all the in-class examples of new functions and grammar that we do. You can never have too many examples! Sometimes it helps to write down examples of the right way to say something and the wrong way, too. (Clearly labeled, of course!)

After every class, look over your notes for the day and write down the one or two main things we worked on during class (grammar rules, vocabulary theme, culture topic, etc.) at the end of your entry, maybe in a box or in a different color of ink.
