How far is it? This service uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them (as the crow flies). It also provides a map showing the two places, using the Xerox PARC Map Server.

Check out the KHS German "Wappen" page! (Click on the German flag, and from there on "Wappen.") Wappen of all the German Länder are displayed, and by clicking on the "Wappen" of a particular state, you can find coats-of-arms for several cities and towns in that state. There are also Austrian Wappen online; Swiss and Liechtensteiner Wappen will follow. A great resource. (Be patient - there are a lot of graphics here, so this site takes a while to load.)
