You've probably heard about machine translations.... Babelfish is Altavista's attempt at translating by computer. Hmmm..... It may give you a start, but watch out! A human being with knowledge of a language is a tough thing to replace. Try this: ask Babelfish to translate the following paragraph into German. Then ask it to translate what it gives you back into English:
"The phone chirps, and he pounces on it, disarming the jack as he cheerfully explains a recently developed "phone phobia." His sandy hair is cut punishingly short, full beard closely trimmed, khaki trousers and button-down shirt casually tidy."
