Thayer Central Elementary provides family activities that enhance the total educational experience of our students and families. Family Science Night was one activity that provided some great learning in an educational environment that both enlightened and entertained all in attendance, while providing an event that connected families outside of the regular school day.

Thayer Central invited us to be part of their Science Family Night that was hosted on September 18th. We were very excited to participate!Dave and I traveled to Hebron with our van full of fun science "stuff." We were able to do a number of fun science demonstrations to get the night started. We put Mr. Wiedel to work, and put his bravery to the test, as we fired the Vortex Cannon in his direction. Our demonstrations were followed by stations operated by Thayer Central teachers. The night concluded with a book fair. It was a great experience for us and hopefully for everyone else that attended. Thanks to everyone at Thayer Central for letting us be part of such a fun night!

Thayer Central students and teachers produce a monthly newscast in which they included a story on the Science Family Night (about 7:36 in the 9/28/2012 video).
