Title:  Occupational Therapist

Email:  kstout@esu5.org

ESU 5 Office:  (402) 223-5277

I have been working for ESU 5 since May 2013.  I provide occupational therapy to students, age 3 to 21, in ESU 5 school districts who qualify for services.  Students are referred to an occupational therapist when they have difficulty with handwriting, vision, attention, sensory processing, behaviors, fine motor skills, transition planning and self care skills.  As an Occupational Therapist, I help educate, train and provide one on one services to the student and school team in order to best help the student learn skills or modify tasks so they can successfully participate and complete school activities.  I also work provide early intervention services to families with kids, age birth to 3, that require skilled therapy to help meet developmental milestones, social skills and self care skills.  I graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion.  I also have earned my Masters of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis.

I live in Lincoln with my husband of 6 years and our beautiful 2 year old daughter.  We have two little dogs, Benson and Dagny.  We are originally from South Dakota and have lived in Nebraska for 6 1/2 years.  I love to be creative through scrapbooking and crafts -especially as an OT for my kids in the school districts and now doing fun projects with my daughter.  I enjoy swimming, camping and going to the dog park for long walks with the family.  I am a pretty good bowler, but since my daughter has arrived, bowling hasn't been in the picture.  Hoping to get that back soon.  I also enjoy hockey with my husband, Go Chicago Blackhawks!
