Science of Reading Cohort 2

Jun 10 2024
Jun 11 2024
Educational Service Unit NO. 5
9:00am — 3:00pm

The term "science of reading" refers to the research that reading experts, especially cognitive scientists, have conducted on how we learn to read. This body of knowledge, over twenty years in the making, has helped debunk older methods of reading instruction that were based on tradition and observation, not evidence. This series will help teachers grow their knowledge and teaching and learning practices to be aligned with SOR.

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
