FIVE Academy Students Celebrate with Succulents and Cooking Creations

Students celebrated Mother’s Day this week with heartfelt creativity and hands-on learning activities. They painted flower planters, selected succulents, and created personalized cards for their mothers featuring a special message comparing a mother’s love to the strength and beauty of a succulent. The thoughtful gifts were made with great care and excitement.

Happy Mother’s Day

Like a Succulent,
Your love is strong, steady, and beautiful in every season.
You bring comfort with little things,
 grow through every challenge,
and brighten every space around you.

Thank you for being rooted in love,
 filled with patience,
and blooming in your own unique way.

Happy Mother’s Day to someone truly one of a kind.

The class also spent time in the kitchen, where two students successfully prepared lasagna from start to finish by following a recipe and working together. They were incredibly proud of their cooking accomplishments, and each student will be taking some home to share with their families. The culinary fun will continue Thursday and Friday as additional students prepare dishes for the class to enjoy as part of the week’s activities.

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
