FIVE Academy is a full-day (9:00 am to 2:00 pm) program in a community college setting that provides transition opportunities for young adults with IEPs who need assistance in acquiring both life and job skills.
This highly supportive & engaging environment can be designed to meet each student’s individual needs in the areas of:
- Functional Academic Activities (embedded reading and math instruction)
- Independent Living Skills Activities
- Pre-vocational Training Activities
- Students receive their credit from Home School District
Students attending FIVE Academy engage in first-hand experiences to teach pre-vocational skills that they need to successfully secure and maintain employment.
The program involves a transition teacher and skills trainer to assist the students in completing their assigned tasks and accompany them on their job sites and during classroom instruction.
