Dené Oglesby joined the ESU 5 staff in August 2024. Committed to continuous learning, she has always sought novel teaching environments. She is excited to share her enthusiasm for World Languages with rural districts, encouraging learners to develop a growth-mindset and cultural competence. With the support of ESU 5, she is expanding Distance Learning options to all 7-12 students in Nebraska by offering French courses alongside Spanish.

In her spare time, Dené studies regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and bioregional herbalism with her husband. They are always up to new projects and renovations on their acreage in Ashland. She loves to travel, read, volunteer, do yoga and exercise, learn about local flora and fauna, and spend time with her pets Bashir and Vixen.
