ESU 5 schools are busy building systems–Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to meet the academic and behavioral needs of their students!

Nebraska’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (NeMTSS) is a framework designed through the lens of continuous improvement to guide school districts, schools, and all educators to ensure each and every student has access to learning experiences that enhance their educational outcomes. NeMTSS has 4 essential components that drive the work.
All 10 ESU 5 districts have participated in professional development to strengthen their systems, either through Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) or NeMTSS professional development. Advocacy and promotion of PBIS has led to over 50% increase in the number of schools implementing PBIS across ESU 5!
This summer, with the use of School Climate Transformation Grant funds, ESU 5 is bringing a nationally recognized presenter, Dr. George Batsche, to provide 2 days of intense training and support for MTSS. We are very excited for our districts to benefit from Dr. Batsche’s expertise!
Dr. Batsche is Professor and Co-Director of the Institute for School Reform at the University of South Florida. He is Co-Director of the Florida Statewide Problem-Solving/Response to Intervention Project for the Florida Department of Education. In addition, Dr. Batsche co-directs the Student Support Services, Shared Services Network and Coordinated Student Health Projects for the Florida Department of Education.
