ESU 5 Science Team Partners with Homestead National Historical Park

The Homestead National Historical Park and the ESU 5 Science team partnered to earn a NEEF grant.  This grant must be used to benefit a 21st Century Community Learning Center, which exists only within Beatrice Public Schools in our region.  Learning Center 3rd - 5th grade students will come to the Homestead on the 4th Wednesday of each month during the school year to look at and study the biodiversity within the Homestead.

The first session occurred on September 29th.  There were 52 students in attendance for the program.  We are excited to partner with the Learning Center and the Homestead National Historical Park and are looking for ways to expand the program to our other schools.

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
