Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for School Teams: Understanding the Essential Components of an FBA

Oct 1 2024
Educational Service Unit NO. 5
9:00am — 3:00pm

This workshop takes a deeper look into the essential components of a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). The FBA is used to inform and help create an effective Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). Having a good understanding of the FBA process increases the fidelity of implementation and empowers those involved in the process.  We will engage in applicable exercises and activities that align with best practices and participants will leave the training with the skills to create and implement FBAs that will lead to appropriate and effective BIPs.

Participants should bring a previously completed FBA to the workshop.  If you do not have one, we can provide a sample for you.

This is a two part series - We would like for people to sign up for both sessions - The other session will be held on November 19, 2024.

I am so grateful that the ESU had so many specialists to work with my son, because now I know what to do to help my child with autism. The speech pathologist and occupational therapist from the ESU have allowed him to gain more than I ever expected him to. I don’t know what I would have done without them.
