Physical Therapist

Educational Service Unit 5, located in Beatrice, Nebraska, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality physical therapy services to students across participating school districts. This position supports students’ access to education by promoting functional mobility, independence, and participation in school environments.

The position will begin in August of 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy evaluations, treatment, and consultation services to eligible students in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including special education staff, teachers, administrators, families, and other related service providers.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans focused on access and participation in educational settings.
  • Document services and progress in compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, staff consultations, and problem-solving discussions as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to school staff regarding positioning, mobility, adaptive equipment, and environmental supports.
  • Maintain compliance with Nebraska Department of Education regulations, professional standards, and ESU 5 policies.
  • Manage caseloads efficiently across multiple school sites as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current Nebraska Physical Therapist license required.
  • Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and related service delivery.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a collaborative, service-oriented team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and student-centered services.
